Dr Elisa Serafinelli

Senior Lecturer in Digital Media and Communication in the School, Department of Languages, Information and Communication at Manchester Metropolitan University

I am a Senior Lecturer in Digital Media and Communication in the School, Department of Languages, Information and Communication at Manchester Metropolitan University (UK). Over the last 12 years, my research has covered three interconnected fields: digital media, mobile media, and visual culture. The primary focus of my work is to investigate how emerging technologies influence society, particularly in terms of visual culture and practices. I delve into how new visual technologies contribute to reshaping our visual perceptions and literacy. My approach predominantly involves qualitative research methodologies complemented by innovative digital research methods designed to study mediated phenomena.
