Dr Hilde Heim

Senior Lecturer in Fashion Communication, Deputy Division Head, Fashion Communication

Hilde Heim’s early research focussed on small-scale fashion entrepreneurship. This knowledge, coupled with her experience as a fashion entrepreneur, informs her current research in the field of emerging digital technology for fashion. Considering the continuing need for sustainable solutions within the fashion system, Hilde’s research has turned to textile product tracking and tracing mechanisms and supply chain transparency.

This has led to investigations into blockchain, artificial intelligence, smart tagging and the internet of things. More recently, emerging circularity regulations have heightened the need for automated solutions such as digital product passports. Hilde’s research navigates the complexities of compliance with supply chain regulations, aiming to foster sustainable and ethical practices in the dynamic realm of sustainable supply chain management.
