Met Office has warned Manchester residents to brace up for snow showers between Wednesday and Friday this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The forecast stated that the cold air from the north will bring snow, ice and low temperatures for many parts of the UK for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Met Office Chief Meteorologist Dan Suri said: \u201cSnow, ice and low temperatures are the main themes of this week\u2019s forecast, as the UK comes under the influence of an arctic maritime airmass as cold air moves in from the north”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to him, the UK will experience between 5cm and 20cm of snow fall. High ground in Scotland is expected to lead by accumulating 20cm of snow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said snow is already falling in parts of the north where some travel disruptions are likely. There is a chance of some rural communities being cut off. Northern Ireland will also be subject to some snow showers, especially over high ground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The warning stated that ice will provide an additional hazard for many with overnight low temperatures well below 0\u00b0C for many parts of the UK. Wintry hazards will develop with parts of England and Wales which will be affected by icy patches and snow in places tonight and likely further snow in parts of the south early Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
From late Tuesday afternoon and early Wednesday, the snow risk is initially in the south as mild air gradually moves in from the southwest but brings with it snow as it meets the cold air. This risk of snow gradually spreads further north through the latter half of the week.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
