Manchester folk have their say"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>People in Manchester are divided over whether Theresa May should remain leader of the Conservative Party.<\/p>\n<p>This comes after a <a href=\"https:\/\/yougov.co.uk\/news\/2016\/06\/27\/theresa-may-leads-boris-johnson-amongst-general-pu\/\">You Gov<\/a> poll was released showing that 23% of Conservative party members would prefer Boris Johnson to lead the party.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"600\" height=\"371\" src=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/spreadsheets\/d\/e\/2PACX-1vRcmWIwGKTTw2TX-gHXb7dmlCUhRKpwNWg1v7Tb3mH9cf9bSicycZ-KXK2HelYTWbbIVyrLJc3K1x8Q\/pubchart?oid=1753330474&amp;format=interactive\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" seamless=\"\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Ahead of this week&#8217;s party conference, NQ asked people in Manchester for their thoughts on the Conservative Party leader.<\/p>\n<p>Lara Johnson, 21, a&nbsp;<ins cite=\"mailto:Dave%20Porter\" datetime=\"2017-10-02T09:19\">s<\/ins>hop assistant from Glossop<ins cite=\"mailto:Dave%20Porter\" datetime=\"2017-10-02T09:19\">,<\/ins> said \u201cNo. She says she will do one thing and then go back against her word\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Laura Wilson, 26, a junior doctor from Deansgate<ins cite=\"mailto:Dave%20Porter\" datetime=\"2017-10-02T09:20\">,<\/ins> said \u201cNo. Theresa May\u2019s a weak leader. How will she be able to get the best deal for Britain in Brexit negotiations?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When asked who should replace her,&nbsp;Laura said she would prefer Boris Johnson to be Party leader.<\/p>\n<p>She said: &#8220;He\u2019d be able to get the best deal for Britain during Brexit negotiations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>John Underwood, 64, who is retired and from Stockport<ins cite=\"mailto:Dave%20Porter\" datetime=\"2017-10-02T09:20\">,<\/ins> said: \u201cNo. She (Theresa May) doesn\u2019t have a mandate. She shouldn\u2019t still be leader.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The 64 year old refused to name who should replace the Prime Minister. I think it should be down to her to decide whether she quits or not.
