It covers over 4,600 households.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"717\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/satellite.mmu.ac.uk\/northernquota-old\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/437\/2024\/03\/F61AA9FE-00BF-4A41-A3AA-CB22612E9ACD.jpeg\" alt=\"A map of the areas covered by the parking scheme in Moss Side\" class=\"wp-image-17372\" srcset=\"https:\/\/satellite.mmu.ac.uk\/northernquota-old\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/437\/2024\/03\/F61AA9FE-00BF-4A41-A3AA-CB22612E9ACD.jpeg 717w, https:\/\/satellite.mmu.ac.uk\/northernquota-old\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/437\/2024\/03\/F61AA9FE-00BF-4A41-A3AA-CB22612E9ACD-300x188.jpeg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 717px) 100vw, 717px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Areas covered by the parking scheme.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The project prevents non-permit holders from parking outside homes, shops and care homes between 10am and 6pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The scheme also puts a stop to parking on footpaths and <a href=\"https:\/\/satellite.mmu.ac.uk\/northernquota-old\/complaints-about-selfish-car-parking-ardwick-blocking-path-patients-wanting-get-manchester\/\">improves safety<\/a> of pedestrians while emending the flow of traffic and road security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Pre-parking scheme<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2021, the council contacted residents with a proposal for a parking scheme to gauge interest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Councillor Angeliki Stogia, said: \u201cThrough this scheme, we aim to help residents park more conveniently in their neighbourhood, while also making sure that essential access to the area\u2019s many businesses is maintained&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The council held online sessions welcoming people to ask questions and to discuss their concerns about the scheme, resulting in the success of the current project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Councillor Mahadi Mahamed<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Mahadi, who is a councillor for Moss Side, told NQ: &#8220;There have been problems with parking in areas of Moss Side for some time. Residents have asked us to tackle this issue&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\nhttps:\/\/twitter.com\/MahdiTaarwale\/status\/1643577498817511424\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>He said residents &#8220;can change the visiting vehicles regeneration number online unlimited times&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Parking bays have also been provided, meaning residents with permits can park for an unlimited amount of time, but rules are specific to the area and can be found on nearby signs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Permits are identified via car registration numbers and supporting evidence is required during the application process. People can apply <a
