Tragic news has shocked the footballing world after ex-Premier League defender George Baldock<\/strong> was found dead in his Athens home on Wednesday evening at the age of just 31<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n According to Greek reports, the former Sheffield United star was found unresponsive in his pool and was declared dead at the scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Baldock<\/strong> had just completed a move to Greek giants Panathinaikos<\/a> this summer after seven years at Sheffield United<\/strong>. He had also recently switched his international allegiance to the 2004 Euros champions as he had a Greek grandmother. <\/p>\n\n\n\n He had made 12 appearances for the Greek national team since declaring for the nation in 2022<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A minute’s silence was held during the international fixture with England playing Greece<\/a> at Wembley Stadium<\/strong> last night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Black armbands were worn by both sides as well with many in the England Squad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
