Six-year-old Selina, who was dressed as a pirate, said \u201cPirates Next Door is my favourite book because we read it recently and I enjoyed it.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Ezekiel from year 1 said: \u201cMy favourite part about World Book Day is that I get to&nbsp;dress up as a pirate with my sword and eye patch.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The children took part in various activities as they kept up to the theme and shared their favourite stories with different classes.<\/p>\n<p>In the week&nbsp;leading up to the day,&nbsp;the children worked on displays related to the theme of adventure.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full wp-image-2212\" src=\"http:\/\/wordpress.satellite.mmu.ac.uk\/northernquota-old\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/437\/2018\/03\/img_5793.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"750\" srcset=\"https:\/\/satellite.mmu.ac.uk\/northernquota-old\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/437\/2018\/03\/img_5793.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/satellite.mmu.ac.uk\/northernquota-old\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/437\/2018\/03\/img_5793-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/satellite.mmu.ac.uk\/northernquota-old\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/437\/2018\/03\/img_5793-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Mrs&nbsp;Ghafori added \u201cLet\u2019s not forget, World Book Day is also for grown-ups, allowing them to be someone else for the day, be it a pirate or dinosaur, and experience a bit of escapism from everyday life, just the way it is experienced when immersed in a good book.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Schools around the country take part in World Book Day every year&nbsp;and each year there is a different theme.
