The Turnpike gallery based in Leigh Greater Manchester are to exhibit the work of the Alexandra Reinhardt Memorial Award winner.<\/p>\n

Lindsey Mendick, the winner of the award created in memory of the late Alexandra Reinhardt, will work with the gallery over ten weeks, leading pottery classes for local children in the care system.<\/p>\n

Lindsey Mendick said: \u201cI am so utterly thrilled to be awarded the 2018 ARMA Commission. The opportunity to work on such an adventurous and dynamic project with such a fantastic gallery will be indispensable to me as an artist. I cannot wait to begin The Turnpike Pottery with the young people of Leigh.\u201d<\/p>\n

Northern Quota went down to The Turnpike and spoke to the director Helen Stalker about the history of the gallery, and its current exhibition by Mary Griffiths.<\/p>\n
