One of them, Farah Bawany, 38, said: \u201cAnyone is welcome to join &#8211;&nbsp;last week someone was walking home from work so we grabbed them and said have a seat and share some food with us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Muslims are encouraged during Ramadhan to come together&nbsp;and help those who are less fortunate and give back to the community.<\/p>\n<p>Many Muslims&nbsp;from around Manchester volunteer once-a-week during Ramadhan and bring in&nbsp;food to share at Piccadilly Gardens,which is an easily accessible location for many homeless people.<\/p>\n<p>Manchester city centre has a growing homeless problem. According to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/uk-news\/2017\/may\/08\/andy-burnham-vows-to-put-words-into-action-in-greater-manchester\">statistics<\/a>, the number of homeless people tripled from 2010 to 2016.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This initiative is a positive way for the Manchester community&nbsp;to come together and socialise while also sharing good food, say organisers.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" allow=\"autoplay; encrypted-media\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\" height=\"315\" scrolling=\"no\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/4gzhcyIfBak\" width=\"400\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<figure class=\"image file-default media-element\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" data-delta=\"1\" data-fid=\"2829\" data-media-element=\"1\" height=\"643\" src=\"https:\/\/satellite.mmu.ac.uk\/northernquota-old\/sites\/default\/files\/picture1_2.png\" width=\"1192\"><figcaption>Chart shows the change in number of Homeless people in Manchester.
