Hungry No More aim is to raise awareness to the importance of food banks across the city and how hard they work to provide a meal for those in Greater Manchester who need it the most. With every can donated to the local food banks, a meal is provided, #weCANmakeadifference encourages people to donate as little or as much as you wish to help those less fortunate.<\/p>\n

It has been estimated that between 1st April 2017 and 31st March 2018 food banks funded by The Trussell Trust organisation distributed over 1,300,000 three day emergency food supplies to people in crisis in the UK, with the majority being in the North West.<\/p>\n

The primary reasons behind many referrals to food banks in 2017-2018 was due to household incomes not covering the cost of essential living expenses resulting from issues with benefit changes and delays.<\/p>\n

Since the roll out of Universal credits there has been an increase of families relying on their local food banks. With more people each day being referred, the pressure on food banks will continue to grow without the contributions and aid from the public.<\/p>\n

#weCANmakeadifference with every piece of food donated to food banks, we are taking action against food poverty.<\/p>\n
