Tameside and Glossop will become the third area in Greater Manchester to benefit from part of a £450 million ‘Transformation Fund’ via NHS England.<\/p>\n

The fund was awarded to the Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership in order to help the region achieve health and wellbeing improvements to residents via devolution.<\/p>\n

Stockport and Salford have already been awarded funding earlier this year.<\/p>\n

The cash boost, which is to be spread over four years,  is hoped to establish an Integrated Care Organisation in Tameside and Glossop, enabling the best use of resources and meet the needs of local people, as well as bringing care services together.  <\/p>\n

The money awarded will ensure those receiving support also have the skills to take greater control of their care needs<\/p>\n

Lord Peter Smith, Chair of the Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership Board said:
\n\t“The roll out of the Transformation Fund will mean that more care will be provided in or closer to people’s homes and there will be support to keep people well and wherever possible avoid hospital admission.
