Manchester Piccadilly, the north\u2019s biggest train station, sees over 30m entries and exits each year. We went to go and interview some of them to see what they were doing in the city.<\/span><\/p>\n

Claire Simmons, 35, fundraising for BBC Children in Need said: \u201cYeah, it\u2019s been good. There\u2019s been a bit of both\u201d regarding whether the public were donating or in a rush.<\/span><\/p>\n

Eli and Kelly, from Blackpool were visiting Manchester to see the musical <\/span>Waitress last night.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was amazing!\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

 They arrived yesterday morning and are going back tonight. When asked if they preferred the city to Blackpool, they responded with \u201coh, absolutely.\u201d They are frequent visitors as \u201cManchester is better for concerts and big events\u201d.<\/p>\n

Sioned, 18 from Wales was on her way home from Sheffield, transferring at Piccadilly on the way. She is a first year student at the University of Sheffield, where she is doing Childhood Studies, hoping to be a primary school teacher one day.<\/span><\/p>\n

Joe had come to town for work, commuting everyday from his home \u201cby the train station\u201d in Liverpool. He is self-employed in the sales and marketing industry.<\/span><\/p>\n

Eric was also working, and was in a bit of a hurry. He had \u201cjust arrived in town.\u201d He lives near a tram, so it is not a long commute for him.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
