The motor is to help with pedalling and help when moving heavy loads.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The eCargo&nbsp;bikes&nbsp;can travel up to speeds of 15mph and carry a weight of 250kg in the hope they can reduce reliance on motor vehicles for moving &#8216;cargo&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">So getting to Ikea with <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CargorooBike?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@CargorooBike<\/a> was a lot of fun today. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/rtOa2fvDAe\">pic.twitter.com\/rtOa2fvDAe<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\t\u2014 Dabhidh MhicEamailinn (@Dbelldb1) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Dbelldb1\/status\/1472596408653996039?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 19, 2021<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>They&nbsp;will cost <a href=\"https:\/\/www.manchesterbikes.co.uk\/service\/cargo-bike-library\/\">\u00a312 per day to hire but other pricing brackets do exist <\/a>for longer&nbsp;durations of hire.<\/p>\n<p><script async=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The bikes and trailers will be launched this month and will be used by the council for their&nbsp;day-to-day operations but are also available for hire to businesses, community groups and residents.<\/p>\n<p>All users must show the appropriate level of cycling-proficiency before being allowed to use the bikes. In addition,&nbsp;Manchester Bikes offers training to all users and free advice on choosing the correct eCargo bike for your&nbsp;needs.<\/p>\n<p>The scheme began when the council successfully bid a \u00a3173,000 grant from the Energy Savings Trust.
