He was sentenced to <strong>four years in prison<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align:center\">\n<figure class=\"image file-default media-element\" style=\"display:inline-block\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Hemayat Enayat\" data-fid=\"997\" data-media-element=\"1\" height=\"300\" src=\"https:\/\/satellite.mmu.ac.uk\/northernquota-old\/sites\/default\/files\/thumbnail_hemayat_enayat.jpg\" title=\"Hemayat Enayat\" width=\"225\" \/><figcaption>Hemayat Enayat, 30<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>Two other men, <strong>Rico Richards<\/strong>, 33, of Cecil Street, Moss Side and<strong> Demaine Cousins<\/strong>, also 33,&nbsp;of Greame Street, Moss Side also pleaded guilty to <strong>conspiracy to produce cannabis<\/strong> and <strong>conspiracy to commit misconduct in public office<\/strong> at earlier hearings.&nbsp;Both were sentenced to <strong>three years and nine months<\/strong> in prison.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align:center\">\n<figure class=\"image file-default media-element\" style=\"display:inline-block\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Demaine Cousins\" data-fid=\"999\" data-media-element=\"1\" height=\"300\" src=\"https:\/\/satellite.mmu.ac.uk\/northernquota-old\/sites\/default\/files\/thumbnail_demaine_cousins.jpg\" title=\"Demaine Cousins\" width=\"225\" \/><figcaption>Demaine Cousins<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align:center\">\n<figure class=\"image file-default media-element\" style=\"display:inline-block\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Rico Richards\" data-fid=\"1000\" data-media-element=\"1\" height=\"300\" src=\"https:\/\/satellite.mmu.ac.uk\/northernquota-old\/sites\/default\/files\/thumbnail_rico_richards.jpg\" title=\"Rico Richards\" width=\"225\" \/><figcaption>Rico Richards<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>Dean Barker<\/strong>, 34, of Guildford Road, Salford, and <strong>Rudi Chuwen<\/strong>, 39, of Regent Avenue, Moss Side pleaded guilty to <strong>conspiracy to produce cannabis<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align:center\">\n<figure class=\"image file-default media-element\" style=\"display:inline-block\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Dean Baker\" data-fid=\"1001\" data-media-element=\"1\" height=\"300\" src=\"https:\/\/satellite.mmu.ac.uk\/northernquota-old\/sites\/default\/files\/thumbnail_dean_barker.jpg\" title=\"Dean Baker\" width=\"225\" \/><figcaption>Dean Baker<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>Barker<\/strong> was sentenced to <strong>three years<\/strong> in prison and <strong>Chuwen<\/strong> received a <strong>nine-month suspended sentence<\/strong> and was ordered to do <strong>180 hours of unpaid community work<\/strong>. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>All five were sentenced today, Wednesday 7 December 2016 at Manchester Crown Court, Crown Square.<\/p>\n<p>In November 2015, <strong>Greater Manchester Police&rsquo;s Anti-Corruption Unit<\/strong> launched an investigation into Enayat, who was a PC on the Trafford Division, after concerns into his activities came to light.<\/p>\n<p>Enquiries identified that on a number of occasions, Enayat had accessed police systems without a lawful policing purpose and for the benefit of the organised crime group.<\/p>\n<p>Detectives discovered that Enayat, along with Richards, Cousins, Barker and Chuwen, had been operating a cannabis farm in <strong>two upstairs rooms<\/strong> within a second house <strong>owned by Enayat<\/strong> on Gurner Avenue in Ordsall.<\/p>\n<p>The court heard how the group had been cultivating cannabis in Enayat&rsquo;s house with the intention of selling it for a large profit. Chuwen tended to the cannabis on a daily basis whilst Barker organised the day-to-day management of the grow.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday 4 February 2016 officers executed warrants in Salford, Moss Side, and South Manchester and <strong>seized cannabis with a street value of &pound;26,000, cash<\/strong>, hydroponic growing equipment and drug dealing paraphernalia. All five were arrested the same day.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Enayat was dismissed<\/strong> in a Special Case hearing on the 28 April 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Deputy Chief Constable Ian Pilling said: &ldquo;The criminal enterprise jailed today was actively involved in growing cannabis, which t<strong>hankfully hasn&rsquo;t made its way onto the streets<\/strong> of Greater Manchester.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Enayat was a<strong> key player <\/strong>in this group, allowing his house to be used for criminal activities.&quot;<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>He abused his position and the trust placed in him as a police officer for criminal gains.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>&ldquo;We are appalled by the actions of this officer, who has allowed his greed to get the better of him.&quot;&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An ex-GMP police officer at the centre of a criminal network has been jailed.
