With its ambitious target of becoming carbon neutral by 2038, the Greater Manchester city region is now at the forefront of the hydrogen economy.

Ambitious strategy and policy development is working to stimulate and drive collaboration and demand between city leaders, policy makers, industry and experts at Manchester Fuel Cell Innovation Centre. At the heart is consensus that we as a region benefit from hydrogen and fuel cell infrastructure to meet our net zero carbon target.

The Centre is helping the North West region as it rises to the challenge of becoming the UK’s first low carbon cluster by 2030. We are heavily involved in the North West Energy and Hydrogen Cluster. This initiative brings together industry, political and University leaders from Liverpool, Manchester, Cheshire and Warrington in a powerful collaboration to develop a pipeline of £4bn in infrastructure.
